What are the differences then between systems?

Here are some common points for consideration when considering the right system for you.

  • Colour:

There are no standard colours for timber product. There are generally only 2 price points for paint, a single colour of choice or a dual colour product. Thats one colour internally and a different colour externally. The colours in which you choose are entirely your choice. All our timber systems are available in any RAL or Farrow and Ball colour.  There are also options for stained wood finished in a range of shades. We have extensive colour charts for all our colour ranges.

  • Thermal Efficiency:

Different Systems will boast different U-Values. A U-Value is the measure of any window or door systems thermal effectiveness. You will learn that different systems have varying U-Values, which are often driven by the type of glazing used and the profile of the product of choice

  • Why are they different across different systems?

Most of the thermal effecieny in any window or door system comes from the glazing. This often constitutes around 80% of the overall area. In todays market there are a number of options to to consider around the type of glass you can specify.

All of our windows systems come as standard with a Low Emission coating applied to the inner pane, often referred to a Low E Glass. This is to reflect escaping heat back into the property.

A building control compliance since 2003. Other glazing options include Laminated Security Glass, Solar Glazing or Privacy Glass.

We can explain the benefits of all of these upgrades during our consultation service to see if these are a worthwhile upgrade on your project by location of each window.

Considerations are venerable locations, more prone to intruder attack, South Facing Windows subject to prolonged sun throughout the summer months or Bathroom/WC locations requiring absolute privacy.

  • Profile Dimensions:

Each of our Window systems will have a unique set of profile dimensions and shape. We have detailed and dimensioned CAD section drawings for all our products for your reference. You will be able to view these first hand across our range which are available on request during your consulation

  • Leadtimes:

Our Timber Window and Door systems can vary in their delivery lead-time subject to the size of your order and the overall specifcation. General lead-times of timber product is around 6-8 weeks. This is often based around the various seasons, these could extend during more busy periods.

If you have an urgency in your project timelines then we advise at your point of consultation the current lead-times around your specific enquiry.
